About
Practical Picks
Field notes for buying less, but better.
Practical Picks is edited by an independent contractor who works on houses, vehicles, and small workshops. The goal is to help you buy fewer, more useful things. A guide is not a hands-on test unless it says what was actually used, and it is not a substitute for a licensed trade when the job needs one.
The categories are a starting map: cars and detailing, tools, water damage prevention, the garage, the kitchen, useful electronics, and ordinary products. New categories can be added in the studio without changing the design.
Nothing on the site is an official test program. Experience labels say whether something was used, owned, used in the editor's work, only researched, or not checked yet. If that label is missing a story, the page is not finished.
The business name, colors, and contact details are settings. Practical Picks is the working name until you replace it.
